TABLE LINENS

Table linens refer to the fabrics used to cover and decorate dining tables, providing both protection and aesthetic appeal. These include tablecloths, placemats, napkins, and table runners. Table linens are essential for formal and casual dining settings, adding elegance and style while protecting the table from spills, scratches, and stains.

Types of Table Linens:

  1. Tablecloths:
    • A large piece of fabric that covers the entire surface of the table.
    • Available in various sizes, shapes (square, rectangular, round), and materials, such as cotton, linen, polyester, or blends.
    • Can be plain or decorated with prints, embroidery, lace, or patterns.
    • Used for both everyday meals and special occasions.
  2. Placemats:
    • Individual mats placed under each plate, serving as both decoration and protection for the table.
    • Made from fabric, plastic, bamboo, or other materials.
    • Easier to clean and change than a full tablecloth, perfect for more casual or everyday dining.
  3. Napkins:
    • Small pieces of fabric or paper used for wiping hands and face during a meal.
    • Fabric napkins are typically made from cotton, linen, or polyester and can be matched with tablecloths or placemats for a cohesive look.
    • Can be folded decoratively for formal dining.
  4. Table Runners:
    • A narrow strip of fabric placed in the center of the table, often used on top of a tablecloth or directly on the table.
    • Adds a decorative element and is great for showcasing centerpieces like vases, candles, or dishes.
  5. Chair Covers:
    • Although not always included, some dining sets feature chair covers that complement the table linens, adding a cohesive and elegant touch to formal settings.
